Customer Cooling Schedule*

Preferred Set Point (PSP)

The PSP is your ideal temperature setting in your home on a summer day. This temperature will be the baseline that all other temperature limits will operate around to ensure that your home stays aligned with your comfort. Throughout the program our software will also take note when you interact with your thermostat and you are free to change it anytime you like through your SmartRent account.

Low Temperature Limit (LTL)

Your LTL is the coolest your home will get. Depending on your chosen comfort setting it will range anywhere from 2-3 degrees below your PSP. It will only get this cool during the pre-cool period from 12-3 PM.

Back to Cooling Schedule >

High-Temperature Limit (HTL)

Your HTL is the warmest possible temperature your home will reach. During the maintenance period of 3-8 PM your home will be allowed to slowly drift up to your HTL to prevent the need to run the AC more during higher-cost on-peak hours. Depending on your chosen comfort setting your HTL will be anywhere between 4-5 degrees above your PSP.

Pre-Cool

The pre-cool period takes advantage of the cheaper times of the day to cool your home a few degrees lower than it normally would to to save your AC from having to run more during the higher-cost times of the day, saving you money without sacrificing comfort during the hot summer months.

Maintenance Period

The Saver Choice service plan, which you will automatically be switched to as part of the Peak Rewards Program, has a variable price schedule depending on the time of day. The maintenance period covers the entire duration of the most expensive “on-peak” hours each day. During the maintenance period your home will be allowed to slowly drift towards your high temperature limit, only turning the AC on when necessary saving you money while maintaining comfort.
